That's right peasants, hold on to your valuables! The York Dungeon is rife with rumours of highwaymen prowling the area...and the most vicious one of all is said to have returned.

Prepare to also come face to face with the mighty Vikings and learn all about their Saxon enemies before meeting some of York’s most notorious characters including the (in)famous Guy Fawkes and local witch Isabella Billington, as history is brought to life before your eyes!

Feel the dark shadows of the black plague and experience the fearsome torture chamber as you laugh, learn and scream your way through the cities most ‘orrible history!

The York Dungeon was officially named the 2024 Large Tourist Attraction of the Year at the Visit York Tourism Awards, and 2023 Outstanding Customer Service Award Winner at the Yorkshire Tourism Awards.

York Dungeon Lates - Age 18+

IT’S DARKER, IT’S SCARIER... IT’S DUNGEON LATES!
The York Dungeon is opening into the darker hours of the night to bring back its infamous Dungeon Lates 18+ nights!

Running every Saturday in 2026 from the 10th January to the 24th October*, and lasting for around 75 minutes, you and your despicable group will be led through our Dungeon Shows, but this time with even more twists and turns and saucier jokes than usual, you won’t know whether to laugh or scream! And now featuring two exclusive shows, "Body Snatchers" and meet our Judge and Barrister in "Wrongful Convictions", along with one of our scariest shows of all time, "Seance"!

The York Dungeon Lates mashes up theatre, special effects and intriguing storytelling with wit, humour, and plenty of edge of the seat surprises for an after-hours experience like no other!

Expect more scares, saucy banter, cheekier jokes and even… well, we’ll let you find out for yourself.
